Office Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for a new team member to fill the position of part-time, temporary Office Administrator at Pacific Blasting and Demolition in Edmonton, AB for a maternity coverage until approximately April 2022. Your daily and weekly hours will vary, based on the needs of the business.

In this position you will provide assistance to our team of Project Managers and Estimators and our General Manager by providing a wide range of administrative support and by coordinating various administrative projects. Your workspace will be located at the front entrance to Pacific Blasting and Demolition and as such you will be the initial point of contact.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintaining a functioning, efficient and professional office
  • Front Desk/Reception
  • Clerical/Administrative support to the Project Managers/Estimators and the General Manager



Front Desk/Receptionist

  • Be the first point of contact to greet, assist and direct any vendor, supplier customer or other walk-ins appropriately, as well as deliveries/recycling/courier services and other
  • Receive and sort daily incoming mail/inter-office documents


Office Management

  • Ensure office supplies, binders, water, coffee and other promotional material etc., a Ensure reception area and all common areas throughout the office are tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and materials to do business
  • Organize office equipment maintenance, ordering general office and printer supplies
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as scanning, filing, photocopying, transcribing, arranging courier services and faxing
  • Order and manage/assign EWO books and any other required carbon copy booklets
  • Ordering supplies for job sites
  • Creating PO’s for jobs
  • Bank deposits
  • Office errands

Procurement/Project Management Clerical Assistance

  • Order/download/print/organize bid and project documents & drawings in binders
  • Arrange and manage off-site printing for drawings, proposals, and other miscellaneous requests
  • Assist with formatting, Word documentation, and spreadsheets used to procure or construct work
  • Organize and file hard copy and digital files
  • Scanning documents and data entry


General Manager Assistance

  • Expense reports
  • Writing meeting minutes
  • Keep in-house forms and brochures in stock
  • Assist with organizing company events, in-office charitable campaigns, in-office staff lunches
  • Organize and track accounting hardcopy files for storage; rotate out for shredding



  • Post-secondary education in office administration or two or more year’s administration experience in an office environment
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills required
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Good knowledge of standard office practices, methods and equipment
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to work toward deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Previous experience within the construction industry would be an asset
